Coolest Ipad Accesories

The original DODOcase was incredibly popular and even made some red carpet appearances. The new and improved DODOcase for iPad 2 is sure to be just as amazing! Very little beats the smell, texture, and heft of a finely bound book but with the swiftly rising popularity of eReaders like the iPad, is this visceral pleasure going the way of the dodo? Fear not! DODOcase is bringing back the primal pleasure of hardback books to the electronic age with their self-titled book bound DODOcase. Read on for a sneak peak of this unique iPad 2 case…

Hand Crafted, USA Made, iPad 2 Case

DODOcase BambooDODOcase DetailThe DODOcase is handcrafted by book binding artisans in San Francisco. They use natural materials and traditional book binding methods to create an actual bound book case for the iPad. Unlike most other folder-over folio style cases this case doesn’t use straps or a frame to secure the iPad 2 in place. Instead, the DODOcase uses pure unadulterated craftsmanship to produce a fit tight enough to keep it secured. The “frame” is hand carved from bamboo which is a soft flexible wood that won’t scratch or mar the aluminum frame of the iPad.

Now More Durable

The material used to cover the iPad 2 case is a black Moroccan cloth covering a newly improved solid core bamboo with a 4 piece tray design that will improve durability and strengthen the case as a whole. This case is custom crafted to match the exact curvature of the iPad 2 and protect it from every angle.
All the ports and buttons around the edge of the iPad are accessible while the iPad is inside the DODOcase, including the dock connector. Be advised that while Apple’s included headphones work with the DODOcase some other third party headphones with larger plugs will not work out of the box. DODOcase states that a little sandpaper or x-acto knife fixes this easily enough though but it’s still something to keep in mind.
The inch thick spine of the DODOcase means that it can double nicely as an iPad 2 stand. With a little care the case can be folded back to prop the iPad up at approximately 60-70 degrees. This angle is great for watching movies, viewing pictures, or using an external bluetooth keyboard. The cover can also be folded completely over the back so that the spine creates a slight incline that is very comfortable for typing on the touch screen. The fact that this handcrafted cover includes these features is commendable because many plastic molded and machine made (boring!) covers do not!

Surprisingly Affordable!

So what does this little piece of art cost? Considering it’s handmade I would have though it could easily go for upwards of $100. In fact, this case sells for $59.95 for the red version, or for $5 more you can choose from the other 11 (!!!) colors, which is extremely competitive considering that the DODOcase is relatively unique in the iPad 2 accessories market. Also, be sure not to miss out on the limited iPad 2 Special Edition DODOcase for $89.95 made from black and white moroccan cloth!

Zagg have done it again and released what we are excited to say is the seasons MUST HAVE iPad accessory: The  ZAGGmate iPad case with keyboard . It’s not often that we get entirely blown away by an accessory for the iPad, but this one has left us shell shocked and in awe. The perfect compliment to your iPad, this is the first iPad keyboard case combo that we have seen yet that has done it right. In fact, it’s the best bluetooth keyboard we’ve seen to date as well! It’s so right and so perfect that we already wonder how we ever used our iPad without it! Check out the review below… ZAGGmate with Keyboard The iPad’s New Best Friend Our first impression of the ZAGGmate was: “Where’s the rest of it?” This iPad case is unlike anything else we’ve seen on the market to date and the designers at Zagg worked hard to literally rethink what an iPad case could be. This is an iPad case that doesn’t cover the whole iPad, but rather just covers the iPad’s screen, and leaves the back of the tablet...

Ipad 2 Apps: Skyfire Web browser Review

Ipad 2 Apps: Skyfire Web browser Review Skyfire for the iPad made headlines when it was first released, due to its ability to play Flash videos on a device previously void of this popular technology. Users flocked to the App Store, eager to drop five bucks for the chance to view their favorite clips, shows, and movies on their iPad. Not only did the browser play these videos, but the integrated video compression saved a significant amount of bandwidth for people on a restricted data plan. The initial excitement wore off quickly, though, as complaints were rampant about many sites not playing videos as expected. Since its inception Skyfire has certainly improved in this area, now claiming support for over 200,000 websites containing Flash. The dissenters will always be there as not every Flash video on the Web will be playable, even if the developers at Skype Labs remain diligent. Some of the backlash is warranted to a certain extent. If I paid $4.99 with the intent of viewi...
