Nokia Lumia 800 vs Samsung Galaxy S2 vs iPhone 4S/4 price comparison and NWP shipment expectations

So, Nokia Lumia 800 sales are disappointing, some analysts say. Perhaps. But what does it mean, really? For sales to be disappointing we first have to set some realistic expectations of what they should have been. And then see whether Nokia exceeded, met or missed them. So how many Lumia 800s and Lumia 710s can we  expect Nokia to ship in Q4 2011? Lets take a closer look at where and how Nokia is selling Lumia 800 right now. To create the table below I went through online stores of all operators in the initial Nokia Lumia 800 launch countries, and compared the prices at which it is sold there, to the prices of the competing flagships – Samsung Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4/4S. ( All prices are in Euro. They show monthly costs of the cheapest 2yr plans, at which Lumia 800, Galaxy S2 and iPhone is offered for free. For comparison purposes, when free option was not available, the initial subsidized price was split over 24 month period and added to the monthly plan cost. ) Some...

iPhone 4 vs. BlackBerry Bold 9900 (and Nexus S) browser battle!

You knew it was coming, right? The moment Chris got his hands on the new touch screen, front-facing QWERTY  BlackBerry Bold 9900 , he just couldn’t wait to put it head to head against the other best mobile browsers in the business, Apple’s  iPhone 4  Safari and Google’s Android browser as instantiated on the  Samsung Nexus S . This time around, as seen in the video above the BlackBerry Bold 9900 browser kept pace with the iPhone 4 and Samsung Nexus S we pitted it against and now, BlackBerry is enjoying the richer browsing experience it should have had all along. It’s interesting to note that all three (and  HP webOS ) are now using  WebKit , the Apple-driven open source web rendering engine, but each have their own JavaScript engine and their own unique implementations. Most importantly, they’re all pushing each other for better, faster, more powerful web support, and that’s good for  us . Of course, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 has a much small...

iPhone 4 vs DROID BIONIC: Which should you get?

iPhone 4 or DROID BIONIC, which should you get? Sure everyone is waiting on iPhone 5 this fall, but until Apple announces it, it doesn’t exist, and by the time it ships there’ll likely be a couple dozen more Android phones on the market to compete with it. As of right now, today, if you’re looking to get a new smartphone on Verizon and you just can’t wait, iPhone 4 and DROID BIONIC are the choice you have in front of you. So let’s help you decide. It took roughly 8 month for Verizon to get the iPhone 4 after AT&T got it in June 2010, but it took Verizon just about as long to get the DROID BIONIC launched after announcing it in January 2011. So one is aging but proven and the other is late to market but chock full of all the latest goodies. Hardware iPhone 4 is small, with a 3.5 Retina Display (960×640) screen, stainless steel antenna band, and glass on both sides. It feels as much a work of industrial design art as it does a phone. Solid. Iconic. But did I mention — small...

iPhone 4S vs. Samsung Galaxy S II vs. BlackBerry Bold 9900 vs. HTC Titan vs. Pre3

Now that Apple has officially announced the  iPhone 4S  and put its specs on the table, we can put those specs up against the other baddest phones on the planet — the current flagship devices for Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, and webOS. Each, of course, has its own unique advantages: iPhone 4S  is blazing fast with the elegant and powerful iOS 5 and the jaw-dropping Assistant artificial intelligence-meets voice control system. Samsung Galaxy S II  has a huge, incredibly bright display, ultra-thin profile, and Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread with TouchWiz on top. BlackBerry Bold 9900  brings touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard together in a way unseen since the best days of the Treo and combines in all the killer communication power of the BlackBerry 7 platform. HTC Titan  makes other big phones feel small, with a gigantic screen, the polish of Microsoft’s Metro UI, and the features of the newly releases Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update...

iPhone 4S vs Galaxy Nexus: Which one should you get?

Phil Nickinson from  Android Central  has put the  iPhone 4S vs. Galaxy Nexus  head-to-head in an epic comparison, complete with videos, pictures, uncanny insight, and everything else you’d expect from a Mobile Nations showdown. The bottom line seems to be, if you want a bigger screen (4.65 inches), a removable battery, NFC, an LTE option (if Verizon actually releases the darn thing before  iPhone 5  gets announced next year!), and a more customizable, Google-centric system, go with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus . If you want a smaller screen (3.5-inches), a better camera (huge 8mp, photon-friendly sensor), the Siri virtual assistant, the still overall better quality App Store apps and more robust iPhone accessory ecosystem, and the more user-friendly, Apple and iTunes-centric system, go with  iPhone 4S . If you’re simply stunned and amazed that we have two such incredible devices on the market these days, with more on the way, then join the club...

iPhone 4 vs. Samsung Galaxy S2

Samsung has just launched its flagship smartphone in the shape of the Samsung Galaxy S II (2) (GT I9100). With MWC 2011 finally over, we can now all have fresh perspective on the best  devices slated to be released into the hands of smartphone lovers worldwide in 2011. First off, the Samsung Galaxy S II is seriously impressive. The big question, of course, is just how amazing is it, and, for that, we’re going to need to compare it to arguably one of the best non-Android phones around –  the Apple iPhone 4. And so, without further ado, read on to find our thoughts on this legendary superphone standoff. iPhone 4 vs Samsung Galaxy S II: Form Factor 1st : Galaxy S II 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.49mm, 117g 2nd : iPhone 4 115.2 x 58.7 x 9.3mm, 137g While there are four dimensions of statistics to consider in this category, it’s only really two that count and the Samsung Galaxy S II comes out top in both. The latest flagship mobile from the Korean tech giant claims ...
