iPhone Apps: PlayFootball Review

PlayFootball ($2.99)
Version – 1.0
REVIEW – “Think you know football? Try PlayFootball!”

This is the game for everyone out there that thinks they can coach better than the guy on TV! PlayFootball is a football simulator developed by Destroy Objects, Inc. The difference between this and a typical football game is that you don’t actually play the game. Instead you work from the sidelines calling the plays.

The graphics and sound in this game are simple and yet still very professional looking. When you open up to the main menu you are given three options: “Setup,” “Play,” and “Help.” The setup page has all of the expected options to set sounds and such, and the help page just covers some basics on how everything works.
There are three “difficulties”: High School, College and Pro. Once you start the game you do the coin toss to see who goes first and then the fun begins from there. You are given a basic list of plays to start the game. As your team performs well your playbook is slowly expanded. It’s a good thing because it gets more difficult quickly!

This game is a lot of fun; the only thing that I really didn’t like about it is that it is obviously set up so that it is impossible to really “trounce” the computer. I have always enjoyed football games and so I’m pretty good at football strategy. I was ahead 21-0 in one game, and then all of a sudden none of my plays worked no matter what I did and the game ended up being 28-21.

Now some people that are just casual football fans would probably be ok with the automatic difficulty adjustment, but I was very frustrated by it. I don’t mind if the game is hard, but for the difficulty to make a drastic change right in the middle of the game very frustrating. If you coach well it’s pretty much like you go from coaching an elite football machine to the last place stinkers in the second half. All of that said, this game is only $2.99, and offers a good overall football experience, and you really do have to make the right calls at the end to win. I would recommend it to anyone that really enjoys the strategy side of football.

Ipad 2 Accesories

Zagg have done it again and released what we are excited to say is the seasons MUST HAVE iPad accessory: The  ZAGGmate iPad case with keyboard . It’s not often that we get entirely blown away by an accessory for the iPad, but this one has left us shell shocked and in awe. The perfect compliment to your iPad, this is the first iPad keyboard case combo that we have seen yet that has done it right. In fact, it’s the best bluetooth keyboard we’ve seen to date as well! It’s so right and so perfect that we already wonder how we ever used our iPad without it! Check out the review below… ZAGGmate with Keyboard The iPad’s New Best Friend Our first impression of the ZAGGmate was: “Where’s the rest of it?” This iPad case is unlike anything else we’ve seen on the market to date and the designers at Zagg worked hard to literally rethink what an iPad case could be. This is an iPad case that doesn’t cover the whole iPad, but rather just covers the iPad’s screen, and leaves the back of the tablet...

Ipad 2 Apps: Skyfire Web browser Review

Ipad 2 Apps: Skyfire Web browser Review Skyfire for the iPad made headlines when it was first released, due to its ability to play Flash videos on a device previously void of this popular technology. Users flocked to the App Store, eager to drop five bucks for the chance to view their favorite clips, shows, and movies on their iPad. Not only did the browser play these videos, but the integrated video compression saved a significant amount of bandwidth for people on a restricted data plan. The initial excitement wore off quickly, though, as complaints were rampant about many sites not playing videos as expected. Since its inception Skyfire has certainly improved in this area, now claiming support for over 200,000 websites containing Flash. The dissenters will always be there as not every Flash video on the Web will be playable, even if the developers at Skype Labs remain diligent. Some of the backlash is warranted to a certain extent. If I paid $4.99 with the intent of viewi...
