Hot on the heels of AT&T's announcement, we took a few minutes to put the amazing Sony Xperia Ion through its paces. The device is thin, really really thin, and fast, very very fast. The Ion was perhaps the most striking device to have been announced by AT&T, and there are quite a few notable things that jump out.
First off, it will be a 4G LTE device, which is huge. As AT&T continues to build their network they need devices to entice users to want to jump aboard, and this phone does just that. Sporting a 4.6-inch 720p screen, the display is nothing short of stunning, and as it's powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, it moves around without any issue. A striking 12-megapixel camera is touted out back which will surely deliver some breaktaking pictures. Unfortunately the Ion ships withGingerbread, but we can hope to see Ice Cream Sandwich on it sooner than later, given Sony's track record with updates back in the Sony Ericsson days. Good Afternoon Class! I’ve been a bit slack in my  BlackBerry 101  lectures as of late – I blame the  Smartphone Round Robin , all the  Contests  we’ve been running on the site and the busy Holiday Season. My apologies!
